Come and learn how to dance Forró! Prepare for a night of fun at the department of physics
In a few words, Forró is a festive tradition from northeastern Brazil that brings music and dance together. The term can refer both to the celebration itself and to a broad musical tradition encompassing rhythms such as xote, baião, xaxado, arrasta-pé and forró. It is danced mainly in pairs, often in a close embrace, and reflects the interaction and continual reinvention of Indigenous, African, and European cultural traditions.
the workshop will be given by a Brazilian dance teacher touring in Switzerland, Arthur Lorenzo
